In Native cultures, birds are highly symbolic because of their closeness to Grandfather Creator. The feather possesses those spiritual qualities of the bird, to be the breath of life connecting us to the heavens above or Mother Earth Below.
Feathers are used in smudging rituals to brush the smoke bath over the person/place that is being cleansed using the underside of the feather to waft the smoke about. This also bring in the air element.
This feather comes from a sweet lady named Zeni who lives in New Mexico. She has wild turkey's frequent her yard and collects their feathers after they have shed them. Cruelty Free!
