temple of the lotus

sacral | water | bathing + aphrodisia

Connecting to the sacred lotus waters, sound bathing, sensuality + inner alchemy, tantra, the Goddess, sacred temples, medicine making.

“WHAT WORLD IS POSSIBLE IF HUMAN BEINGS DEVOTE THEMSELVES - PERSONALLY + SPIRITUALLY - TO THAT WHICH GIVES LIFE?”

sacred waters

This month, we enter the Lotus Water Temple - where we feel into the waters with the Lotus -
and experience what it’s like to bathe in sacred waters, to commune with the waters of the
land + attune to the flow of our own divinity within.

We are all connected through the waters - to each other, to our ancestral lands, to our ancestors,
to all lives we’ve lived, to all of the stories + memories throughout time.

Water serves as a vehicle of remembrance.

I invite you to connect to the body of water closest to your home - ocean, river, lake, creek -
even if you are unable to in-person, connect and acknowledge them.
There is a profound shift that happens when you begin to connect + acknowledge
+ honor the waters that feed you, that hold + mold the land that you live, and the ones from your homelands, specifically your Motherlands.

If you live on colonized lands, I invite you to do some research and find out the names of the waters - the true names that the indigenous people whose land you live on would call the waters. The original people of the land knew how to listen, how to speak the language of the land, and tuning in to that connection, and learning
the name of the water is profound medicine - for the land, for the waters, and for you. Speak the name out loud, allow the water + land to rejoice in your remembrance and be fed by communing in right relationship.

Water serves as a reflector - allowing us to see ourselves.
We can go to the waters to be reborn, to cleanse, to meet ourselves when we feel lost,
to reconnect to our intuition, to our inner knowing, to our natural rhythm + flow within. Water allows us to meet ourselves exactly where we are, and find healing + acceptance from that place.

Through the waters, we can connect to the birthplace of Egyptian Blue Lotus

- which is so powerful as it is rare that we are able to physically connect to the birthplaces
of plants if we are not on their lands - but through the waters, we are connected. Can you feel how powerful that is?

MEDICINE OF
THE MONTH

| b a t h i n g + a p h r o d e s i a |

SPIRITUAL BATHING WITH LOTUS

Work with Lotus in the form of bathing this month.
In the bath, shower, anointing yourself in lotus waters.

Tuning in and opening to feel Lotus on your skin + in your energetic field,
Communing, speaking your prayers,
allowing Lotus to cleanse you, release tension, stress, bring your nervous system into
a relaxed state of being, and open your senses to let go, feel, and receive.

Allow it to be a meditative experience - calling in the spirit of Lotus to be with you in this form
- tuning in to the messages and what reveals to you, and simply just receiving.

It is here we can experience what it is like to be reborn in the waters of the Lotus.

What is Blue Lotus’ energy like in water?
What does it feel like on your skin? To unite your waters + bodies together?
What does it do to your energy during and after?
What do you see/feel reflected in the waters?

MAKING YOUR SPIRIT BATH

Make your infusion with presence and intention.
Hold the Lotus at your heart and speak your intentions for communing in this way.
Share if you’d like Lotus to support you in cleansing + releasing, connecting to the waters,
or simply just to commune and be with her, whatever it may be,
speak your prayers into the waters.

BATH:
1)
Use a large pot with a lid.
2) Place a handful of petals or about 4-8 whole flowers in the pot and fill with water.
3) Lid and heat on the stove on low - once water gets up to a warm/hot temperature of your liking,
take the stove off and leave the flowers to infuse for about 20+ minutes.
4) Add to your bath water along with the infused petals/ flowers
5) Add in some extra dried flowers + petals if you desire.

*You can also simply just add a glass jar of your tea infusion to your bath as well.
It does not have to be so strong or elaborate to commune.
Play + experience it all.

SHOWER
1)
Make a strong infusion as you do your tea - with a jar + lid, or in a pot like shared above.
2) Use hot water but not fully boiled.
3) Allow to infuse for 20 minutes or more.
4) Bring a jar of the infusion into the shower with you and take the lid off to allow it to cool down if needed,
you can also add some cold water to the jar if it is still too hot. Please be careful.
5) Bathe with soap as you wish.
6) After you are bathed - hold your sacred waters at your heart and call in the spirit of Lotus and share your intentions.
7) Pour the sacred waters over your head, body, wherever you wish.
8) Do not rinse off - allow yourself to be covered in lotus waters. You may want to strain your tea if using petals.
9) Pat dry + tune in to the energy of having lotus on your skin for the rest of the day or night

ANOINTING + SPRITZ:
1)
Make a strong Lotus Spirit Bath infusion to keep in a jar in your fridge - use as you feel called to,
for your feet or hands, heart, face- to have on hand and allow it to weave into your daily ritual
and support you when you need it.

2) Place the infusion in a spritz bottle and store in your fridge to spray your body + energetic field as you feel called to.

APHRODESIA

This month we welcome working with Blue Lotus Cordials + Glycerine - your bottle with the Ankh symbol.

USE:
I invite you to take a few moments when you take a dropper full in your mouth to close your eyes and breathe,
bringing in some presence and welcoming Blue Lotus into your body with gratitude.

Take 1-3 dropper fulls when you feel called to.
Wait 2-3 hours before taking more in one day.
You can take up to 3 times in one day.

Tune in to when your heart is feeling called to take it - and take notice when the medicine is calling to you!
Journal your experience and take note of how it feels different in your body,
and how it feels working with her in this way.

I find it is strong and I usually only take it once (3 droppers full) of Glycerine and feel it with me all day and night.

feminine + Goddess energies

This month we explore the feminine energies of Egyptian Blue Lotus -
the divine mother, the Goddess, the Deities, the yin nature of this beloved one as we work
with Lotus through the mother of the waters and in our cordials later in the month.

The Ancient Goddess + Divine Feminine reveal themselves in many different faces + forms throughout different cultures- and Blue Lotus carries many of stories + energies of the Goddess
within her thousand petals + within the waters she with birthed from.

DIVINE FEMININE ENERGIES OF LOTUS

Blue Lotus has a deeply loving & gentle nature - she is able to hold us & mother us when we need it most.

In meditation, ask to commune with Blue Lotus in her feminine energy and see what comes through.
Observe her in the waters, tune in to the feminine frequency emanating from Lotus in this form.

How does she make you feel? What does she feel like in her feminine spirit? What does she reveal to you?

Most likely you have already felt this spirit in meditation before. Go deeper here this month.

DISCOVERING THE GODDESS WITHIN LOTUS

I invite you to explore what Goddess(s) begin to come through for you as you commune
intentionally with Blue Lotus to meet her as such this month.

Revisit the Opening Ceremony Tea Meditation if you’d like to be guided and begin to call her in.

Do not force anything, but be open and asking and set your intention this month with Blue Lotus.
Be open to noticing what Goddess(s) start to reveal themselves to you in the daily too,
in the linear as well as non-linear.

Maybe one has already been coming through for you!

The myths + stories of the Goddess can often share + reveal to us so much
about the plant spirit, reflecting the medicine it holds.
Journal down + take note of anything that comes through your intuition.

As a Goddess comes through for you in meditation -
create a practice this month of communing with her more regularly.
Connecting + learning directly in non-linear realms.

Bring what comes through in non-linear realms into the linear and allow the path of discovery
to awaken something in you. Read, research, explore the ancient stories + myths if you feel called to.

There is a lot of appropriation + inaccurate re-interpretation of cosmologies + stories of the
Gods/Goddesses + deities- especially in the Egyptian context.
I invite you to use your discernment + intuition as you explore + research.

Blue Lotus has led me on a deep path of discovery, uncovering, decolonizing, reclaiming, and remembering. As I began to explore Venus - she led me deeper into my own ancestry, and to go deeper to discover that Innana/Ishtar was the first-ever Goddess of love + beauty. Lotus has this way of inviting us to go deeper, to get to the root, to decolonize what we have been told, to seek truth beyond the mind’s eye, to see beneath the surface.

I invite you to remember this on your journey. To be open + curious, to find root sources - to journey below the surface - as this adds depth to your connection + relationship with spirit, the Earth, and yourself. To really, truly, remember.

In our Share Circle we will go into this more & I will share some discoveries I have found.

I want to leave the mysteries open for you to discover the Goddess on your own
- before I share about the Goddesses that have come through for me with Lotus. In our Share Circle is where I’ll be sharing the myths, stories, resources, and deep in-depth about the few Goddesses’ from my journey - as it would simply be too much to share in text for you to read. And in this sharing circle, I hope that you come to add your own experience + stories in your communing with a Goddess that came through for you too.

If one does not come through for you, please do not worry - You will learn in the share circle and perhaps that inspiration will begin to spark your discovery. Or simply you are meant to connect to a different aspect of the Lotus at this time. The Heart Chakra month will also be a beautiful invitation to connect to the divine mother energies.

If a Goddess you feel connected to begins to come through, please feel free to reach out to me this month for resources or direction if you’d like!

personal studies + rituals

As we move into our second month - we simply add on new layers of working with Blue Lotus.
Continue to visit the rituals + practices of Month 1, and now begin to add on some new ones to explore as you feel called.

Tune in to which suggested practices + rituals you feel connected to explore
& choose
at least one, if you feel it in your heart.

  • As shared above. This is our medicine of the month and so I strongly encourage you to experience this at least once this month if not more. Tune in to when you feel called to practice this ritual. I find I really love it when I need a clearing, or want to feel loved + caressed, or before I share ceremony.

  • Weave into your daily ritual to anoint yourself each day with Sacred Lotus Waters. In the morning, before you drink, or whenever you feel called. Notice how this feels as a simple daily ritual.

  • I invite you to continue your practice with plant spirit tea meditations - just as we do together. Sit with the plant, smelling it, anointing your body, taking in each sip with presence + intention, and when you feel ready and feel the plant in your body - call in the plant spirit and see what comes through for you. The more we practice this, the deeper we can go. Or simply drink the plant in silence. Begin to weave this ritual into your weeks. I invite you to try to sit with the plant in meditation/silence at least once a week.

& this month, experience a tea meditation while in the bath or shower. How does it feel different to you?

Revisit past recordings to be guided in a tea meditation.

  • Revisit the recording of our Month 2 Opening Ceremony Tea Meditation and see what comes through for you. Go deeper with a Goddess that has already been revealed to you.

  • Revisit the recording of our Shamanic journey and set your intention to be guided to meet Blue Lotus as a Goddess or Divine mother spririt. See what comes through for you. Go on a journey of discovery.

  • Revisit the recording of our Shamanic journey while in the bath. Set your intention to be anything you desire and go on a journey while submersed in water. this is extremely healing.

  • If you live near a body of water - an ocean, river, creek, lake, etc - I invite you to take a cup of your tea and drink by the water. Close your eyes and tune in to the sounds of the waters around you as you drink. Just be present here and enjoy. Bring your journal and write whatever may come through or your experience here. Leave your spent petals/flower to the waters and begin to feel the Lotus, yourself, and the water communing together. It is a special experience to drink Lotus by the waters and my favorite ritual.

  • If you are someone who has a yoni or womb space and already have a yoni steam practice - I invite you to steam with Blue Lotus. While there are no physical medicinal benefits of steaming with Lotus, energetically + spiritually it can be very powerful. Set your intention as you create your yoni steam - as you steam tune in to the energies of the Lotus entering your Yoni + womb space. Journal after your experience.

*I may offer a bonus group yoni steaming some time this month. Stay tuned!

  • Sound bathing is a beautiful tool to awaken our waters and the waters of the Lotus. Drink Lotus and listen to potent vibrations of instruments & singing bowls. Bathe in the energy. Tune in to how it feels in your body. Do this in the bath or shower, or simply sitting on the Earth or in your home.

*find below in the next section a playlist with my favorite sound bowls.

  • Once a Goddess or Deity has come through for you - create a practice this month of communing with her more regularly. Connecting & learning directly from her and what she has to share which can mirror messages + medicine of Lotus. Call her in as you meditate or in your waking life when you feel the pull. She what begins to reveal itself + be known to you.

Please share in our Community Page your experience with any of these rituals
or photos you would like to share to inspire one another. <3

medicine making

This month we introduce medicine making + getting in the flow of creation with Blue Lotus.

I invite you to not mix Blue Lotus with any other plants at this time
- we are keeping it simple and communing with just Lotus alone in this way.

We will be adding on different ways of making medicine with Lotus over our months together,
so please do not jump ahead. It is potent to stay in the waters and create from this place and with these menstrums here and now.

MAKING YOUR MEDICINE IN CEREMONY

Burn some sacred smoke,
get into a meditative flow
and co-create with Lotus moving through you.
Call in the plant spirit and share your intentions for this medicine you are making.
This is what makes your medicine special and potent
- your own unique prayers
and intentions that are woven into it.
Speak from your heart and move intuitively.

  • SUPPLIES:

    • A glass jar with lid - choose size according to how much medicine you want to make. It’s nice to start small on your first batch. A little jar goes a long way.

    • Alchohol of choice - Vodka and Brandy are my favorites to use for tinctures. Brandy is from fruits, Vodka from grains or corn. Use a high-proof alchohal for stronger extraction.

    • A label for your jar.

    • Cheesecloth or strainer.

    • Honey - for cordial.

    • Blue Lotus Petals or Flowers.

    HOW TO:

-Burn some sacred smoke and cleanse your jar.

    - Fill your jar 1/3 full with Lotus petals/flowers.

    - Pour your alchohal over it and place your lid on.

    - Give it a nice shake.

    - Label your jar and include the date - “Blue Lotus in 100 proof organic vodka. 12/18/21”. This is very important so you can remember when its ready!

    - Let infuse for 2-6 weeks. Visit your jar and give her a nice shake every now and then.

I have found Lotus infuses so quickly that it doesn’t need the entire 6 weeks, but tune in to your intuition and what your medicine tells you.

-Once done infusing, use a cheesecloth or strainer to strain your medicine, separating the spent Lotus flowers from the alchohal.

    - Place your medicine in a new glass jar.

    - label this jar! “Blue Lotus Tincture in 100 proof organic vodka”.

    Your tincture is done!

If you’d like to make a Cordial:

-Add honey to your jar of medicine, add as much as you’d like.
    - Stirr it and add to taste.

Add to your label “With honey. Or name it Blue Lotus Cordial with vodka and local wildflower honey.”

  • SUPPLIES:

    • A glass jar with lid - choose size according to how much medicine you want to make. It’s nice to start small on your first batch. A little jar goes a long way.

    • Organic Vegetable Glycerine Food Grade.

    • Distilled or Spring Water.

    • A label for your jar.

    • Cheesecloth or strainer.

    • Blue Lotus Petals or Flowers.

    HOW TO:

-Burn some sacred smoke and cleanse your jar.

    - Fill your jar 1/2 full with Lotus petals/flowers.

    - Fill your jar with 3 parts glycerine to 1 part water. (depending on the size of your jar you can google what 3 parts of your size jar would be in oz or cups)

    - Give it a nice shake.

    - Label your jar and include the date - “Blue Lotus in Vegetable Glycerine and Spring Water. 12/18/21”. This is very important so you can remember when its ready!

    - Let infuse for 4-6 weeks.

-Visit your jar and give her a nice shake every now and then.

I have found Lotus infuses so quickly that it doesn’t need the entire 6 weeks, but tune in to your intuition and what your medicine tells you.

-Once done infusing, use a cheesecloth or strainer to strain your medicine.

    - Place your medicine in a new glass jar.

    - label this jar! “Blue Lotus Glycerine”.

  • It is said that the Egyptians would infuse Blue Lotus into Wine and drink at gatherings. It is a beautiful way to drink wine intentionally + ceremonially with loved ones. I find the aphrodesiac energies really come through in such a blissful way!

    SUPPLIES:

    • Red or White wine with a screw top.

    • Blue Lotus Petals.

    HOW TO:

-Pour about a half of a wine glass out of your bottle to make room for the Lotus petals.

-You will simple add directly into the wine bottle about a small handful of Lotus petals.

-In order to fit them into the bottle, you make need to tear the petals to break them down into smaller pieces, or you simply take it slow, adding each petal down one by one.

This is such a beautiful process. Play some music and really feel into the special act of making a ceremonial sacrament such as this.

    -
Let infuse for 1-4 days. Wine, once opened, does not last a very long time. So play with it.

-Shake the bottle often while it’s infusing - so that the plant material can move through the wine and the wine can also aerate.

-Once it’s ready, shake, and simply serve.

If your plant material is small and you need to strain it - you can strain your wine with a cheesecloth or strainer, and then use a funnel to place it back into your wine bottle, or simply serve it from the new vessel.

As you make your medicine - please share in our Lotus Initiates Community Page!

books
+ resources

Throughout the month I’ll add some resources + texts here to further inspire your studies.

  • Waters Rising (book)

a gorgeous publication about the sacredness of water. It is a free online book you can download and read.

  • Inanna Queen of Heaven and Earth: Her Stories and Hymns from Sumer. (book)

The story of Inanna is a must-read - as it is the root + source of so many stories of the Goddess that we know today. Her story of descent + ascent is a profound mirror + guide for navigating life, death, and the journey in between.

  • The Radiance Sutras

One of my favorite texts in the world. A beautiful compilation of sutras that invites you into the wonderment and delight of the universe around you and awakens you to feel your connection to the beloved and to yourself.

  • The Spell of the Sensuous by David Abram (book)

A book that “returns us to our senses and to the sensuous terrain that sustains us.”

me into a deep space with lotus. Included here is the mantra we sang during our Foot Bath - Blue Lotus Feet,
some beautiful sound bowls for sound bathing, and the shamanic drums that you can work with on your own.

I’ll continue to add to the playlist for us throughout our voyage.

MONTH 2
Yoni + Womb Steam

Wednesday, December 22nd - 5pm est.

For thousands of years in cultures all over the world, women have practiced this ritual in which you sit over a pot of herbs infused in warm water and allow the steam of the plants to tone, soften, rejuvenate, heal, and clear both interior + exterior realms of the yoni + womb portal.

This therapy increases blood flow + circulation to the uterus and ovaries, clears uterine congestion, tightens + tones tissue and skin, heals womb traumas, heightens libido + sexual drive.

Yoni Steaming is a powerful ritual for energetically clearing traumas, past lovers, and memories we carry in our womb spaces.

In this ritual, we will invite Blue Lotus into our womb spaces to bring their healing in whatever ways are needed. It is an invitation for us to release, commune with the Goddess, and welcome Lotus into this space in our bodies directly.

You will need:

  • a small handful of Lotus petals or 2+ Whole Flowers.

  • a wide + large metal, ceramic, or wooden bowl or a pot.

  • a lid or something to cover the top of your bowl/pot

  • a towel or blanket to set up on the floor

Preparing for Ceremony:

  • Heat your hot water about 15 minutes before our ceremony in a kettle and have it with you for our ritual. Heat enough water to fill your container a little more than half-way full.

  • Prepare a beautiful sacred space on the floor in a quiet room where you will not be disturbed.

  • Light some candles + incense. Allow it to feel clean + beautiful.

  • Lay down a towel you steam sit on.

Have With You:

  • Your lotus flowers.

  • Your bowl, lid, and hot water.

  • Sacred smoke/incense + a light.

  • Journal + Pen.

  • Your Lotus Glycerine or Cordial or a cup of Lotus Tea. Whichever you feel called to work with.

DO NOT STEAM IF:

  • you are currently bleeding.

  • you are pregnant.

  • you are trying to conceive.

  • you have an IUD

  • you are prone to yeast infections or currently have a yeast infection.

  • you have 2 periods in one month.

If you are unable to steam during this time - still come with your space, water, and bowl prepared and be in the vibration with us. I will give you an alternative practice to do to join us.

If you do not have a yoni or womb - you can still partake as well - come with your space, water, and bowl prepared and I will give you an alternative practice to do alongside us.
